Children First: Every Child; Every Day
The City of Salem school system is once again using “BoardDocs” as a way to better enhance communications for all citizens during the current school year. This electronic agenda system, which was adopted in Salem in September of 2007, is easily accessed on the internet through a link off of the home page on our school web site.

BoardDocs allows parents, students, teachers and administrators to easily check school board agendas, policies within the system, and many other valuable informational items at anytime day or night.

This type of around the clock access is especially important in a day and age when the time demands on students and parents are greater than ever. BoardDocs already has proven itself to be a valuable informational gathering asset, especially for those who find it impossible to attend normally scheduled open meetings.

With BoardDocs you can review and print information prior to meetings, and then after each meeting, individuals can review the agenda items and see what action was taken by the Board including the voting information. All documents associated with meetings are automatically archived and can be accessed by meeting date or by using the comprehensive search feature.

The school system also maintains its Policy Manual online. By having these policies and procedures available through BoardDocs, the division is ensuring that personnel and the public will have access to the most up to date information in a readily available and searchable format.

This move to Electronic Agendas by the Salem School Board is also cost effective, efficient and environmentally friendly as it replaces the old method of compiling, printing and distributing paper documents.
