THE TIME FOR THE BUDGET WORK SESSION SCHEDULED FOR MONDAY, FEBRUARY 6, 2012 AT 7:00 P.M. HAS BEEN MOVED UP TO 4:30 P.M. THE MEETING WILL BE HELD AT THE SCHOOL BOARD OFFICE.
There will be a joint meeting (work session) of the Page County School Board and the Page County Board of Supervisors on Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. at the Page County Court House. The purpose of this joint work session is to continue FY13 budget preparation.
The Page County School Board is charged by the statutes of Virginia and the regulations of the Virginia Board of Education to provide and operate the public schools of Page County. It is the function of the Board to set general school policy and, within the framework of Virginia Board of Education regulations, to establish guidelines that will ensure the proper administration of the county school program. The school division's vision statement is: Promoting Achievement Growth and Excellence.
Members of the community are invited and encouraged to attend public meetings of the School Board to observe its deliberations. The Board holds business meetings twice monthly, on the second and fourth Mondays.
Time is reserved at each meeting for citizen comment on matters that are on the agenda for items relating to school board business. Any citizen may speak during this time. Those persons wishing to make longer presentations or formal requests at meetings may register to be on the meeting agenda. To register for time on the agenda, please call Ellen Fields, Clerk of the Board at 540-843-2833. Meeting agendas are finalized one week prior to the meeting date.
