School Board Action Required: Action

Revise Operational Expectation D. Staff Compensation

Develop compensation and benefit plans that are fair and equitable and consider the minimum living wage in an effort to that attract and retain the highest quality employees competitive with the applicable marketplace.

Revise the reasonable interpretation:

The minimum living wage is defined as the amount adopted by the Fairfax County Government as the minimum living wage.
The minimum living wage analysis will include the value of benefits when calculating current wage.


Revise indicator D.2:

D.2 Complete, analyze, and report results of external and internal compensation and benefits surveys to ensure fairness, equity, and market competitiveness and create salary scales, classification levels, and benefit programs that reflect this.

Recommendation:

That the School Board approve revised Human Resources operational expectation D. Staff Compensation and reasonable interpretation, and revised indicator D.2., as detailed in the agenda item.
