BACKGROUND:
On December 7, 2006, the School Board approved the Student Achievement Goal 1.1.3. reasonable interpretation and indicators. This presentation will provide an update on work in progress and performance measures being developed to ensure successful attainment of the School Board goals.
KEY POINTS:
This presentation will describe the work being done in science to prepare students for success in the 21
st
century. Strategic actions based on current educational research will be implemented to assure that all students reach their full academic potential and relate that potential to their post secondary educational and career goals.

Does the Board need any clarification of the information in the report?

Does the report meet the Board’s need to determine progress toward meeting the Student Achievement Goal?

Does the report fulfill the need to report to the public the progress toward meeting the Student Achievement Goal?
RECOMMENDATION:
That the School Board accept the report as a reasonable interpretation of the Board’s goals, including indicators to measure attainment of the goal, the timeline, and the aspirational expectation of Student Achievement Goal 1.1.3. – Science.
