BACKGROUND:
On December 7, 2006, the School Board approved Student Achievement Goal 1.2. reasonable interpretation and indicators. On October 11, 2007, the first report was presented to the School Board, and approved by the School Board on November 29, 2007. This presentation will provide an update on progress to date, and future plans related to the performance measures in place to ensure successful attainment of the goal.
KEY POINTS:
The presentation will clarify expectations for Limited English proficient students and define foreign language proficiency as communicatively competent in a second language.
RECOMMENDATION:
That the School Board accept the monitoring report on the current progress toward attaining Student Achievement Goal 1.2. Communicate in At Least Two Languages.
