BACKGROUND:

On December 7, 2006, the School Board approved Student Achievement Goals 1.1.2., 1.1.3., and 1.5. reasonable interpretation and indicators.

On November 29, 2007, the first report for Mathematics was presented to the School Board and approved as a reasonable interpretation of the Board’s goals.

On December 6, 2007, the first report for Science was presented to the School Board and approved by the School Board on February 14, 2008.

On February 14, 2008, the first report for Integrated Technology was presented to the School Board and approved by the School Board on February 28, 2008.

Tonight’s presentation will provide an update on progress and future plans related to the performance measures in place to ensure successful attainment of the goals.

Also, the Student Achievement Goal 1 – Overview including graduation and advanced academics will be presented tonight. On March 27, 2008, the first overview report was presented and approved by the School Board.

KEY POINTS:

This presentation will describe the work being done to prepare students for success in the 21st century and provide analysis on progress toward meeting the student achievement intermediate goals in 2010-2011.

RECOMMENDATION:

That the School Board accept the monitoring report on the current progress toward attaining Student Achievement Goals 1.1.2. Math, 1.1.3. Science, 1.5. Effectively use technology to access, communicate, and apply knowledge and to foster creativity, and Goal 1 Overview.
