BACKGROUND:

On December 7, 2006, the School Board approved reasonable interpretation and indicators for Student Achievement Goals 1.1.1., 1.1.4., and 1.4.

On November 8, 2007, the first report for English Languages Arts was presented to the School Board and approved as a reasonable interpretation of the Board’s goals.

On January 24, 2008, the first report for Social Studies and Understand the interrelationship and interdependence of the countries and cultures of the world was presented to the School Board and approved by the School Board on February 14, 2008.

Tonight’s presentation will provide an update on progress and future plans related to the performance measures in place to ensure successful attainment of the goals.

KEY POINTS:

This presentation will describe the work being done to prepare students for success in the 21st century and provide analysis on progress toward meeting the student achievement intermediate goals in 2010-2011.

RECOMMENDATION:

That the School Board accept the monitoring report on the current progress toward attaining Student Achievement Goals 1.1.1. English language arts, 1.1.4. Social studies, and 1.4. Understand the interrelationship and interdependence of the countries and cultures of the world.
