Policy Detail

I. PURPOSE

To provide procedures for identifying and registering language minority students.

Regardless of whether a student is born in the United States or in another country, he or she is designated a language minority student if:

A. The native or first-acquired language is other than English.

B. A language other than or in addition to English is spoken in the home.
