Central Islip Public Schools
Children - Our Future. Diversity - Our Strength.
The Central Islip Board of Education consists of seven members who are residents of the district and who have been elected by the qualified voters. They serve without pay for a term of office of three years.

MISSION:
The mission of the Central Islip Public Schools is to enable all students to fulfill their potentials and become responsible, contributing adults able to thrive in a culturally diverse, changing world. In partnership with the entire community, we will provide a quality, educational experience that offers equitable learning opportunities in a safe environment. We will link home, school, and community to ensure a positive, supportive education that fosters student excellence and success.

The public is invited and encouraged to attend Board of Education workshops and meetings, both held monthly at the Alfano School, 50 Wheeler Road, Central Islip. Unless otherwise noted, all meetings commence at approximately 7:30 p.m. The Board of Education and Superintendent of Schools engage in discussion relative to the resolution agenda during the Board of Education workshops during the monthly workshop meetings in preparation for acceptance of a resolution consent agenda during the subsequent Board of Education meeting. Other topics pertinent to school district operations are also reviewed. While the public does not participate in the Board of Education's deliberations, questions may be asked of the Board and/or Administration during the public participation section of the agenda. Requests may be made for information by submitting an inquiry card prior to the start of each meeting.
