This report is a review of the accomplishments reached by the Risk Management department during the past year. It also provides the Board with an indicator as to the challenges associated with controlling insurance and claims costs. Through hard work and cooperation with various District departments, we have been able to build a strong "safety culture." The reduction in rates, premiums and losses are just the "tip of the iceberg" regarding savings to the District. Our mantra continues to be "Operations Control equals Loss Control." By focusing on improving operating procedures through safety, we are able to reduce loss exposure. It is a pleasure for the Risk Management staff to serve the students, employees and patrons of the R-7 School District. Whether it is in the area of insurance and claims management, emergency operations planning, ADA compliance, playground standard facility guidelines or safety and security audits, we look forward to contributing to the District's mission for many years.
