Public commentary is offered at every open meeting of the board and is limited to 45 minutes total, no more than 4 minutes per person. 2. The number of speakers is divided into the 45-minute time limit and each speaker is given an equal share of time. 3. Those interested in speaking must sign up in advance with the Board’s assistant in person by telephone, email or prior to the start of public commentary. 4. Speakers are placed on the commentary list in order of sign-up and are announced in that order. 5. The list of speakers will not be made public until after the public commentary time. 6. Speakers may not cede their time to others. 7. Failure to speak will not increase the time allowed others. 8. Speakers may not address the board more than once during the same meeting. 9. Speakers should announce their name and whether they represent any organization or agency. 10. Speakers may leave a copy of written comments for inclusion in the meeting materials archive. 11. Speakers should refrain from making personal attacks. 12. Complaints against staff, students or board members should be directed through proper channels. 13. Board members and employees will not engage in conversation with speakers during public commentary. The Board President may allow questions from trustees.
