Recommendation:
The Superintendent recommends approval as submitted.
Background:
In order to keep the Marietta City Schools strategic plan viable, timely and responsive to the needs of students and the community, it was recommended that the strategic plan approved in December 2006 be updated through the GSBA Strategic Planning process. The Board unanimously approved the GSBA Strategic Improvement Planning process on April 21, 2009. The inclusive process utilized a GSBA on-line survey as well as the Title I and non-Title I surveys completed by Matthews Consulting in Spring 2009, Planning and Action Teams comprised of all stakeholder groups, and a Community Forum to generate input used to formulate goals, measurable objectives, and possible strategies. The plan presented meets the established timeline for completion.
