Resolutions in the matter of the elimination of classified services, effective July 17, 2009: Office-Technical and Business Services Bargaining Unit and Operations-Support Services Bargaining Unit and Management. These eliminations of classified services are a result of the reorganizations of the Special Education Department , Transportation Department, and Physical Plant Operations (PPO) as reflected in the cost savings decisions made by the board, in the district’s 2009-10 Budget Deficit Solutions “Blue Group;” item 2 dated March 10, 2009.

The Transportation Department recommends the elimination of eight positions to support the board-approved reorganization. These eliminations, in conjunction with other supervisory positions that have been eliminated, yield a net savings to the district of $233,196.

The Special Education Department recommends the elimination of two positions to support the board-approved reorganization. These eliminations in conjunction with other management positions that have been eliminated reflect an overall net savings of approximately $150,000.

Physical Plant Operations recommends the elimination of 23 positions to support the board approved reorganization.  PPO has been implementing the reorganization into the zone framework.  These eliminations in conjunction with other positions that have been eliminated reflect an overall net savings of approximately $550,000.
