RECOMMENDATION: Approve the charter petition, as revised per staff’s requested revisions.

FISCAL IMPACT: The district does not receive any average daily attendance funds for students enrolled at charter schools. The charter school anticipates a maximum enrollment of approximately 280 students.

BACKGROUND: The submission of petition materials to the district was completed on April 20, 2009. The public hearing for this charter petition was held on June 2, 2009. District staff has reviewed the proposed charter and staff’s comments and recommendations have been provided to the charter school petitioners. The petitioners have agreed to make, and have made, all of the requested changes consistent with staff’s recommendations. Staffs’ signed review sheets are attached to the report. The final revised charter petition is also attached.
