Welcome to Pomona Unified School District's BoardDocs Site.
Because of the special trust associated with governing the Pomona Unified School District, members of the Board of Education commit to working together to achieve success. In order to provide outstanding leadership and better serve the children of our community, we, the members of the Board of Education, commit to the following Standards of Practice:
1. All of our decisions will be based upon what is good for children and what will benefit all children.
2. Our one and only agenda is the improvement of all students' learning and development, not just those in the regions we have been elected to represent.
3. We will follow the established policies and procedures of the Pomona Unified School District, and work to change those that hinder our work on improvement of student learning.
4. We will focus on policy and outcomes and leave the day-to-day operations and the management of the District to the Superintendent and his staff.
5. We commit to developing and maintaining a strategic plan, which includes defined success for the District and the establishment of appropriate goals for which we will hold the Superintendent accountable.
6. We will respect the leadership roles of the Board President and Superintendent, and will support them in their efforts to lead the Board and the District, respectively.
7. Our relationships with each other will be based on courtesy, trust and respect; we will, as a governance team, follow the practice of issuing praise in public and providing criticism in private.
8. Although we may disagree on issues, we will listen for understanding, respect the ideas of others, and be united once final decisions are made.
9. We will support decisions of the majority after honoring the right of individual members to express opposing viewpoints and to vote their convictions.
