Board members are being trained to used BoardDocs

By Kim Tran

In an attempt to go green, the Nyack School District is looking into going paperless with their board meetings at some point in this school year.

"The board is currently going through training on a software that’s designed to be more green and environmentally sound with paper production," said Superintendent Jim Montesano.

They're shifting into a program called BoardDocs. He added that once the board learns how to use BoardDocs, it will better streamline and organize the board.

The community will be able to find documentation of “things the board is voting on or … considering” with Internet access.

"If people don’t have the availability (to go online), we can make the arrangements for that."

Those that want a sneak peek at what BoardDocs is all about, the Nanuet School District made the paperless switch in 2010.
